Day 4

Jesus is God

There have been many great persons in the world- Aristotle,Socrates,Confucius,Budha,Mahatma Gandhi e.t.c. But none of their birth was predicted, so early as that of Jesus.Rig Veda, the hindu scripture written 1000 years before Christ says this about the sacrificial animal:
I. It must be a goat without blemish
II. The "balasu" bush must be placed round its head;
III. It must be bound to a sacrificial post.
IV. Nails must be driven into its four legs till they bleed.
V. The cloth covering the goat should be divided among the four priests.
VI. None of its bones must be broken.
VII. The goat should be given a drink of Soma juice.
VIII. After it has been slain, it must be restored to life again.
IX. Its flesh should be eaten.
All these comes true in Jesus Christ.

Isiah writes about passion and death of Jesus as like a newsreporter writes from the place of event, centuries before Christ. He grew up like a sapling before him,b like a shoot from the parched earth; He had no majestic bearing to catch our eye, no beauty to draw us to him. He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, knowing pain, Like one from whom you turn your face, spurned, and we held him in no esteem.(Isiah 53:2-3). St.Paul says in his letter to Romans "They are Israelites; theirs the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; theirs the patriarchs, and from them, according to the flesh, is the Messiah. God who is over all be blessed forever. Amen."(Romans 9:4-5). Jesus says "for if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins"(St.John 8:24). I AM is the phrase first used by God when He speaks to Mosses in Exodus 3:14. By using the same phrase Jesus is saying that He is God. We have a God who came down to befriend us. Don't be frightened. Stand up boldly with Jesus.If possible watch the movie "The Case for Christ".
